The Matanzas 5K is one of the Jacksonville Grand Prix Events and as such draws a large and competitive field of runners. This year there were 1,669 finishers.

Ironically, Frieda & Norm Wyner who live in St. Augustine, were there but didn't run. Frieda is sidelined by glaucoma eye surgery recovery and Norm is essentially permanently sidelined.
